Kim Chigi is the artist & owner of Csigi Designs. She lives in Chico, Ca.

 

She is a graduate of Rutgers University with a B.A in Visual Art.  Kim has diverse and well rounded experience in the arts.  Her skills include Oil & Acrylic Painting, Printmaking, Block Printing, Sculpture, Photography, Film and Figure Drawing.  During her studies, at University, she focused primarily on painting and was involved in an ongoing apprenticeship at the Rutgers Center for Innovative Printmaking where she assisted the Master Printer.   It was during this apprenticeship she developed a special interest in printmaking and paper making.

After graduation Kim was awarded the Brett Taylor Painting Scholarship to the Aegean School of Art in Paros, Greece, where she further developed her skills in painting and printmaking. 

 

Travel plays a significant role in the development of Kim’s artistic process. Over the past few years she has spent extensive time living & traveling all over the world in places such as France, India, Nepal, Thailand, Italy, Greece and Malaysia, submerging herself in other cultures & philosophies. The artist has displayed her paintings & prints in various group and solo shows in NY, NJ, PA, CA and Europe.

 

Block Printing has become another medium added to the artist’s repertoire.  The combination of painting and sculpture allows her to create an entirely new dimension of artistic expression.
